Let $X$ be a set.
Let $\AA, \BB$ be $\sigma$-algebras on $X$.
Then $\BB$ is said to be a sub-sigma-algebra or sub-$\sigma$-algebra of $\AA$ if and only if $\BB \subseteq \AA$.
