wouldn't a cube be a rectilinear figure under this definition? It is bounded by straight lines... --Cynic 21:33, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I had to think about this, but came to the conclusion: No. It's bounded by flat surfaces, not straight lines. Euclid specifically wanted to talk about plane figures here. He worked his way round to solid geometry somewhat later in the books. --Matt Westwood 21:38, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
