Why did I replace two hyphens and four tildes in a code and nowiki section? Because it was not rendering as two hyphens and four tildes. What I see on my machine is two close braces in a code section. So I replaced the two-hyphen-four-tilde construct with just one tilde, expecting the user to work what is meant from the context. --prime mover (talk) 14:26, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- I also have PM's problem. How 'bout something like "two hyphens: <code>--</code> followed by four tildes: "<code>~~~~</code>

"Why is this site so rubbish?"
While a funny phrase, it can be very harmful for the reputation of this site. Keep in mind that the FAQ quite visible in the menu on the left, so imagine how many visitors read this and start thinking it is true. --barto (talk) 10:52, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
- I do like the idea of starting with something catchy. To be constructive, a less self-deprecating alternative is "How many proofs are there so far?" --barto (talk) 13:37, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
- Well it is, it's appalling. I wouldn't use it if it were the last resource on earth. --prime mover (talk) 15:25, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
