Terms of Service
As a user of $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ with sufficient rights to be able to create and edit pages, I declare that:
- I will not quote $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ without attribution.
- I will not compromise the quality standard of $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$, in particular (but not exclusively) by adhering to the house style rules.
- I will behave in a civilised and conscientious manner at all times, in particular in my communication with other users.
- Unless explicitly opting out, I agree that my contributions may be made available under any free documentation licence, not just the specific CC-by-SA licence currently in place on $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$.
- I agree to be bound by what may reasonably be called the intent of these terms of service, rather than by their strict literal interpretation.
In addition to the above terms and conditions, those of the CC-by-SA 3.0 licence apply.
User Pages
All users have their own user page, which can be used to introduce the user. These are found at the link [[User:(user name)]] and [[User talk:(user name)]]. Links to these pages can be found in the upper right hand corner of the screen when the user has logged in.
These pages can be stamped with his/her personality as desired. Feel free to decorate them with personal pictures, avatars and the like.
Note that users do not technically own their user pages, so they do not have completely free rein to post up material which is outside of the domain of action of $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$.
The following are specifically prohibited:
- Links to commercial websites which are not related to any aspect of mathematics.
- Discussion and advertisement of any enterprise and activity for the purpose of soliciting trade of any kind.
Discussion of topics of interest to the outside of the realm of mathematics is not encouraged. This is a mathematics wiki, not a social forum. Bear in mind that the content of $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ is held on a machine somewhere whose space is paid for by the volunteers who subsidise it out of their own pockets. They are not prepared to subsidise vanity projects.
Caveat
The administrators of $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ reserve the right at any time and without prior notice to amend these terms of service.
In the event that such amendments become necessary, they will be announced on the news page.
Users are encouraged to express their opinions on this on the main discussion page.
