Symbols talk:Greek
I added a table of the Greek alphabet (copied from Definition:Greek Alphabet) and then modified. I made it sortable for all columns except the "Some Mathematical Uses" column. I had to add the "position" column so it could be resorted to the order of the standard Greek alphabet. If anyone knows how to make it sort the Greek properly, please do it/let me know. I am open to suggestions for improving the format. --Cynic 22:22, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't sure about that greek alphabet table when I first put it together, I reckon it doesn't need to be a dynamic table after all. I did it that way because I didn't know any better (*dim*). I was envisaging just a straightforward table - it doesn't need to be dynamic, and sorting on anything but the natural order of Greek letters seems limited in usefulness ... Besides there are symbol variants that will need to be documented, and that might not be so easy to add in the dynamic table format. But I'll wait to see what you envisage. --Matt Westwood 22:29, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
I didn't really have a master plan, I just figured making it sortable wouldn't hurt. But the more I think about it, the less I think it matters, since you could always just search for, say, omicron, if you couldn't find it in the table. Although I will note that adding extra columns to the table isn't made any harder by having sortable or not. --Cynic 01:28, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
