im not sure but cardan is the same that candano? and teh cardan's formula is the same that the cardano-vieta relation*

$a_0x^n+a_1x^{n-1}+a_2x^{n-2}+\ldots+a_{n-1}x+a_n=0$

$\displaystyle\sum_{k=1}^{n}x_{i_1}x_{i_2}\ldots x_{i_k}=(-1)^k\displaystyle\frac{a_k}{a_0}$  ???

Cardan's Formula, as I know it, is the formula for solving a cubic. All the links I've found on the web by googling have that as the definition. --Matt Westwood 17:58, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Matt's right. The formula you're thinking of is Viete's Formula. --Cynic-----(talk) 03:46, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
