Worth putting a link to (or merging with) Generalized Euclidean Metric is a Metric of which this one is a special case? --Matt Westwood 08:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Isn't it really more of a case of Euclidean Metric is a Metric? Also, did we establish the connection between elementary Eulcidean geometry and metric spaces? --Cynic (talk) 17:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes I think we did - I'll have to thread my way through it all again. Defly worth keeping "Distance Formula" up as a page in its own right as it is a directly accessible result for people concerned only with 2-d coordinate geometry and don't need all the baggage that comes with the concept of the general metric space. I'll give it some braincells tomorrow, I'm shafted tonight having spent most of the day on the road listening to my wife's Michael Bolton CDs. :-( --Matt Westwood 21:50, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
