Talk:Eulers Criterion
I haven't checked the content of this page in any detail so I haven't been able to tell whether the proof you pasted in here is the same as Euler's Criterion. If it is, we can replace this with a redirect. If it is not, suggest we add a "proof 2" to the Euler's Criterion page. --Matt Westwood 05:31, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, yeah the theorem is precisely the same, but the proof is different.J D Bowen 16:54, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok I've done my best at merging, but someone should look over it. One question and one point: is the definition of Primitive Root used in this proof the same as/equivalent to Definition:Primitive Root? And FYI this proof appears to be the same one that Wikipedia has up - if that's where it came from, that's fine from my perspective (it seems valid and is much shorter than the proof that was already up), but we should probably put the relevant article (wikipedia:Euler's criterion) as a source. --Cynic (talk) 04:41, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Seconded about the source. I'm currently going through (as you all may have noticed) adding sources to as many pages as I can find evidence for. I'm going to leave it to number theory experts to check the workings of this page as I'm shaky on this. --Matt Westwood 05:43, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
