does a negaitve beta really mean rotation about the origin? I would think it should be rotation about about the line of contraction and expansion. --Cynic 02:48, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't follow you. A stretching/contraction is a similarity, and the only invariant point is the origin. What line are you thinking about? --Matt Westwood 10:37, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

O yes I'm with you now, a stretch in one direction. Not a euclidean transformation of course. Haven't planned on progressing to affine transformations for a while yet. --Matt Westwood 16:13, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
