Historical Note on Brahmasphutasiddhanta
In $776$, a traveller from India appeared in Arabia, and demonstrated his fluency in the use of the Indian number system.
This, along with his demonstration of its use in trigonometry and astronomy, directly inspired the translation of Brahmasphutasiddhanta into Arabic.
