Definition

A cube number (or just cube) is a number which can be expressed as the third power of an integer.


In the words of Euclid:

And a cube is equal multiplied by equal and again by equal, or a number which is contained by three equal numbers.

Sequence of Cube Numbers

The sequence of positive cube numbers begins:

$1, 8, 27, 64, 125, 216, 343, 512, 729, 1000, \ldots$
