Definition
Let $\CC$ be a curve embedded in a cartesian plane.
An intercept of $\CC$ is a point where $\CC$ intersects one of the coordinate axes.
In particular:
$x$-Intercept
An $x$-intercept of $\CC$ is a point where $\CC$ intersects the $x$-axis.
$y$-Intercept
A $y$-intercept of $\CC$ is a point where $\CC$ intersects the $y$-axis.
