Let $\sequence {a_k}$ be the arithmetic sequence:

$a_k = a_0 + k d$ for $k = 0, 1, 2, \ldots, n - 1$


The term $a_{n-1} = a_0 + \paren {n - 1} d$ is the last term of $\sequence {a_k}$.
