Definition
In the context of arithmetic and algebra, the term sign is used to mean one of the operators:
- Addition: $+$
- Subtraction: $-$
- Multiplication: $\times$
- Division: $\div$
It can also be used to describe a general operator in the context of abstract algebra: $\circ$ and so on.
