  • 1949: Graduated from University of St Andrews with First Class Honours in Mathematics
  • 1952: Awarded doctorate from Princeton
  • 1953: Appointed to Mathematics Department at Queen's University, Belfast
  • 1960: Appointed as a lecturer in mathematics in Queen's College, Dundee
  • 1966: Research visit to the University of Western Australia
  • 2001: Emigrated to Australia
  • Died: 9 June 2010 in Nedlands, WA, Australia
