Historical Note on Solution of Qunitic Equation using Elliptic Functions
The Abel-Ruffini Theorem, on the general insolubility of the quintic by radicals, was proved by Niels Henrik Abel in $1823$.
However, Charles Hermite demonstrated a technique for solving a general quintic using elliptic functions in $1858$.
