Historical Note on Broken Chord Theorem
According to Heinrich Suter, the Broken Chord Theorem is ascribed to Archimedes of Syracuse.
The work exists in German (by Suter) as a translation of a survey by al-Biruni, as well as the original in Arabic, showing about two dozen proofs of the theorem.
Three of these are described as Archimedes' own proofs.
