Theorem
Let $\mathbf A$ be a matrix.
The column rank of $\mathbf A$ is equal to the rank of $\mathbf A$.
Proof
The rank of $\mathbf A$ is defined as the dimension of the column space of $\mathbf A$.
Thus the result follows by definition.
