$X$ has the hat-check distribution with parameter $n$ if and only if:
- $\ds \map \Pr {X = k} = \dfrac {!k} {n! } \dbinom n k$
where:
- $!k$ is the subfactorial of $k$
- $\dbinom n k$ is the binomial coefficient.
