Linguistic Note on Tetrahedron
The word tetrahedron derives from the Classical Greek τετράεδρόν:
- tetrás (τετράς), meaning four
- hedron (a form of ἕδρα), meaning base or seat.
The technically correct plural of tetrahedron is tetrahedra, but the word tetrahedrons can often be found.
