Hi there

Please excuse my rough handling of you out there today, but the proliferation of all this "this object is a group and therefore it's a semigroup and that means it's closed and to do that we demonstrate ..." Unless there's a really good reason for the detail, at the level we're working at, that level of detail gets in the way. None of the sources I've studied does that, but I understand it's a quick way in and all that.

I understand that none of the sources you've studied does that, but sometimes the algebraic closure property is vital for the proof to work in the strictest sense. Also, I want to show that a different approach is required if the algebraic structure does not have the algebraic closure property.

Please feel free to add any missing justifications you like, on the grounds that some of them will stick, and some of them won't, and one that was too full of the result of insufficient proofreading before posting I'm afraid got reversed straight out.

In regards to analysis, please also be aware that we tend not to expressly raise the subject about which operator $1$ and $0$ are the identity of. By the time we're in analysis we know all that, let the fundamentalists and number theorists go work it out in their corner.

Oh, and since this is the course of study you have embarked upon, you will be expected to adhere to house style, which includes unlearning suboptimal grammar rules and adopting the tight and precise form used in $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$. IN particular this means that whenever you're tempted to use a comma, you probably need a colon. Commas are used to separate elements of a list.
