Check your working
I have amended Ferrari's Method back to what it was, and this time completed the elementary algebra at the end to prove that what I had in the first place appears to be correct. Perhaps you might like to return to your working in which you showed that the coefficient of $q$ is in fact $8$, and see where the discrepancy is between your working and that in the page in question. If you still believe your working is correct, feel free to discuss it on Talk:Ferrari's Method. You are not the first one to have raised this as an issue (unless you are the same person working a sock puppet) so I would be interested to see where the discrepancy lies. --prime mover 15:22, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
