Welcome to ProofWiki! Since you're new, you may want to check out the general help page. It's the best first stop to see how things are done (next to reading proofs, of course!). Please feel free to contribute to whichever area of mathematics interests you, either by adding new proofs, or fixing up existing ones. If you have any questions please feel free to contact one of the administrators, or post your question on the questions page.

Here are some useful pages to help get you started:

  • Community Portal - To see what needs to be done, and keep up to date with the community.
  • Recent Changes - To keep up with what's new, and what's being added.
  • Check out our house style if you are keen on contributing.
  • Main Page talk - This is where most of the main discussions regarding the direction of the site take place. If you have any ideas, please share them!

Please do not replace existing content with your own stuff, no matter how much better you think it is. Unless something on an existing page is demonstrably wrong, and an agreement has been reached to replace it, you don't just delete stuff and replace it with something else.

If you have developed a different proof, then enter it as another proof.

Failure to adhere to this policy is likely to get your changes reverted.

Thank you for your cooperation. --prime mover (talk) 18:37, 27 November 2019 (EST)

I have restructured the Dedekind's Theorem page accordingly, and have amended your proof into our house style. As you see, the main changes are:
a) providing links to a definition and justification of every concept and statement made in the proof
b) breaking up compound sentences into simple statements and conditionals, one to a line.
You may be prepared to agree with me that this makes the page easier to read and follow. --prime mover (talk) 01:36, 28 November 2019 (EST)
Thank you for your comment, I totally agree with you. But I also think the first one must be changed a little, because "Because, suppose the following." type of sentences are grammatically wrong. It could be "Because of following." or "Because, if we suppose the ... we get ..." etc. I also have some idea to make that page better. I'm reading Dedekinds papers and adding some new definitions could make this, I will try a few hours later. --LaSTLeGioNTR (talk) 11:39 AM (GMT+3), 28 November 2019
