Definition
A cluster sample is a sample in which clusters rather than individual units, are selected from a population.
observations are made of every individual in each selected cluster.

Human Statistics
Examples of cluster samples from human populations include:
- Households, in which the individual people form the units
- Farms, in which the fields form the units
and so on.
