Crystallography is the branch of physics which studies the structure of crystals.

Historical Note
The study of crystallography was started by Johannes Kepler.
The theory was developed intensively by René Just Haüy and Auguste Bravais.
In the $1980$s, quasi-crystals were discovered, which can have $5$-fold symmetry
