Linguistic Note on Cybernetics
The word cybernetics was coined by Norbert Wiener from the Greek word κυβερνήτης (kubernḗtēs), which means pilot or steersman.
The same root word is also the origin (via the Latin corruption gubernator) of the English word governor.
