A general exponential function is a real function of the form:
- $\map f x = a b^{c x + d}$
where:
- $a, b, c, d \in \R$ such that $b > 0$
- $x$ is a real variable.
When $a = c = 1$ and $d = 0$, this degenerates to:
- $\map f x = b^x$
