Is the cross product really the same as the cartesian product for this purpose? --Cynic (talk) 03:54, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

There are several definitions for the cross product. One is precisely the cartesian product of sets; another is the cross product of vectors; another deals with group actions. The precise meaning is typically clear from the context (ie, clearly the "cross product of n circles" is not a vector operation). It doesn't matter to me at all if you'd like to change it to cartesian product on this page; I'm just more used to calling such an operation a cross product, so that's what I called it here.
