Let $K$ be a ellipse such that:

$a$ denotes the length of semi-major axis of $K$

$b$ denotes the length of semi-minor axis of $K$.

Let $L$ denote the length of the latus rectum of $K$.

Then:

$L = \dfrac {2 b^2} a$
