German physicist who invented the first electromagnetic telegraph with Carl Friedrich Gauss.
Younger brother of Ernst Heinrich Weber ($\text {1795}$ – $\text {1878}$), and elder brother of Eduard Friedrich Weber ($\text {1806}$ – $\text {1871}$).
Not to be confused with either the physicist Heinrich Friedrich Weber ($\text {1843}$ – $\text {1912}$, or the mathematician Heinrich Martin Weber ($\text {1842}$ – $\text {1913}$).

- Born: 4 October 1804 in Wittenberg, Saxony (now Germany)
- 1814: Left Wittenberg after the city fell to the Prussians, moved to Halle
- 1822: Entered the University of Halle
- 1831: Hired by the university of Göttingen as professor of physics, on the recommendation of Carl Friedrich Gauss
- 1833: Constructed the first electromagnetic telegraph with Gauss
- 1837: Expelled from his post for being one of the Göttingen Seven who rebelled against the new King
- 1843 -- 1849: Professor of physics in Leipzig
- Died: 23 June 1891 in Göttingen, Germany
