Talk:Locker Problem

I was tempted to suggest that this may be added to the "Classic Problems" category, but on reflection it seems too modern in concept to deserve the accolade "classic". It was probably specifically invented as a direct application of the Tau function result. Where did it come from? --Matt Westwood 06:40, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

I've just googled for it, and the really depressing thing is that most of the sites host a demonstration applet but no proof, or even a suggestion as to how to get one. Dumbing down? --Matt Westwood 07:02, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

  • Sigh* You'd think people would at least point out the number of factors thing, since the Tau function is probably above the level of most people who need guidance to figure out the solution. I expected better of Michigan State at least, but I guess even high level American math education has a lot of work to do :( --Cynic (talk) 02:57, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
