Definition
A tesseral harmonic is a surface harmonic in the form:
- $\cos m \phi \, \map { {P_n}^m} {\cos \theta}$
or:
- $\sin m \phi \, \map { {P_n}^m} {\cos \theta}$
such that $m < n$.
